Our offices will be closed in observance of the Federal holiday, Juneteenth.

Juneteenth, specifically June 19, 1865, was the day when some 2,000 Union troops arrived in Galveston Bay, Texas (2 years after Emancipation Proclamation was enacted), to announce that the more than 250,000 enslaved black people in the state were free by executive decree. This day came to be known as “Juneteenth,” by the newly freed people in Texas.

In 2021 Juneteenth became a Federal holiday.

To learn more about Juneteenth we suggest you look at the Simthsonian Website link HERE.

Our offices will be closed on Monday 6/20/22 and will reopen on Tuesday 6/21/22.

Most Massachusetts State agencies including the RMV are also closed on this day.
