Listen to this great interview with Genevieve Brough on the WHMP – Western Mass Business Show with Tara T. Brewster. Give a listen to hear about Gen’s journey to becoming the owner of Finck & Perras Insurance Agency, being a owner in what is a typically male dominated industry, what does local mean to us, why giving back is important, why the rates are so high and more.

Finck & Perras Cares – Health Care Workers are Raffle WINNERS!
Back in late March, as things really started to lock down and become a challenge for many, we started to think of small ways we could make a difference. After some thought, we decided one way we could help those on the front line as well as some businesses that would be affected was to come up with a raffle.

On March 31st, we put together a post on Facebook here. We asked everyone to nominate any area health care worker who works at a health care facility in Western Mass to be entered into the daily drawing. We simply needed their name in the comments and they would be entered. Then for the month of April each day (Monday-Friday) we would draw one of those people nominated for a $50.00 gift card to an area business that was also randomly drawn at the same time. There was NO obligation to anyone to be a current, future or past customer of Finck & Perras to be included in the drawings.
We posted daily videos of the drawings conducted and you can actually see all of them on our Facebook Page HERE.
We actually ran the event for one week into May and at the end were able to give away 27 $50 gift cards to the following people.

Customer sings praise of Gail Serino and Finck & Perras
This letter was received by Gen Brough on 02/05/20.
Dear President Genevieve Brough,
I would like to take this time in acknowledging Gail Serino who is one of your Personal Lines Account Managers based out of the Easthampton office.
Over the past year I have had the pleasure of being insured through Finck and Perras and have had received nothing short but the greatest customer service from Gail Serino. My previous insurance companies started off with Liberty Mutual before switching to Geico for a couple years then ultimately your insurance company of Finck and Perras.
Gail has always been there for me whenever I had any questions, concerns, quotes, or paperwork needed. She has been exceptionally punctual when returning e-mails or calls. She does a great job of detailing the quotes and is always looking for the customer’s best interests while insuring.
Gail takes all the stress out of dealing with the paperwork or binders needed while purchasing a new vehicle or just switching insurance companies. What I like best about your company is the competitive rates offered, but with the small town customer service provided thanks to Gail and your team.
“The purpose of business is to create a customer who creates customers.” Shiv Singh.
Thank you for your time.
Best Regards
Ryan P
Your insurance policy and things to know when planning a backyard wedding.
The short answer is, yes and no. We know that all policies are different and there will always be follow up questions that will help us to provide you with an answer. Some questions we will ask are; how many people are coming; is alcohol being served; are you hiring a caterer; are you getting a big tent? Your answers will help us guide you in the right direction.

While your homeowners policy does provide you with coverage for events at your home, it is always best to double-check and to make sure you have the proper limits. You should also make sure anyone you are hiring that will be on your property providing a service, has insurance as well. Professionals like the caterer, DJ, rental company, etc. should all provide you with a valid certificate of insurance.
Tanya Costigan in our Easthampton office, has been in the wedding planning business for over nine years. Tanya has provided us with the three things to know for backyard weddings or parties if you want to avoid homeowners policy claims.
- Tent stakes get driven about 3+ feet into the ground and could cause some serious damage! Always have the tent company do a site visit so they can be aware of power lines, dig safe situations, sprinkler systems and septic/well systems. Markers should be placed in any of these areas so they can be avoided when staking the tent.
- There is a lot of liability taken on when having a large amount people leaving the property after consuming alcohol. Event insurance policies or certain homeowners insurance endorsements should be put in place before event day.
- Can the home handle the power needed to run such an event? Lights, band/DJ equipment, and catering equipment take a significant amount of power. You may want to consult an electrician or rent a generator from the tent rental company to avoid headaches.
In addition to your homeowners policy we often recommend a “Special Event Policy”. This policy typically covers liability at your home or at another location. Using this type of policy helps reduce the possibility of a claim, which can affect your homeowners policy status in the future. This type of short term policy can cost as little as $175.

Whatever the policy you decide, we hope we can be your insurance partner for the big day for you or your family member. If you have any questions reach out to any of us or shoot us an email.
Help! I have a claim and it is after normal business hours!
First and foremost are you okay?
Once you and your loved ones are ok we want to help you start the process.
We know claims rarely happen during normal business hours and if you came here to figure out how to file a claim we want you to head to our “CLAIM PAGE” by clicking HERE.
There you will find a link to all the carriers website claim pages. You will be able to start the process of getting your claim filed. Many carriers have a way to start the claims process online – a few, require you to call claims in and those numbers are listed as well.
We want to know if you have a claim, so that we can support you through the process. If you contact a carrier directly after hours, please let us know by contacting Robert Daniels in our Florence office or Pam Judd in our Easthampton office.
